OTB TEAL INVITE JUNE 19-21 The GameBreakers 36 Program has been invited to attend the first annual OTB Teal invite hosted by the New England Nordiques. This is a very prestigious event which will be attended by NHL, NCAA, and many junior teams. The GameBreakers have both 16u and 19u teams which will take on many of the strongest teams in the country. The teams invited to this event are usually the best summer teams in the country that end up winning the Chowder Cup or Pre Draft tournaments which are also hosted in Boston. Every team in this event has kids that are committed to college/ drafted in USHL/ drafted in OHL and many potential NHL players.
The 1999 team is composed of Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany, and Boston. The team has players from Nichols school in Buffalo that has produced many D1 players including Andrew Poturalski and Sean Malone who are making immediate impacts in college hockey. The players from Nichols are Anthony Scanzuso, Jack Millar, Andrew Fromen, Matt Gasuik, Erik Urbank (Dartmouth), Brandon Hausler, and Cole Donhauser. All the players are great D1 candidates. Other Buffalo area players include Danny Smith, Chris Blachowski, and Colten Mckenna who was drafted in the OHL by Sarnia. From Syracuse our team has Matt Kirwan, Zachery Taylor, and Gabe Vinal in net. We have four current prep school players. They are Ethan Kimball who played for Kyle Quick on the River Rats and had his season cut short due to a broken clavicle, Sean Wilkinson (Albany Academy)/ Buffalo Regals, Tyler Lisieski (Albany Academy) and Faisal Al Saif (Choate/ Yale Youth Hockey). All of these players are going to be looked at by Division I and Division III schools that weekend. The goal for many of these players is to get some great exposure from this tournament and do well as a team.
